I am Babalawo Afonja Obafemi. Yoruba is a religion as well as a philosophy of life. I am forever grateful as a black man in America, to find Yoruba (The Spiritual Tradition of my Ancestors).

MY STORY

Before being initiated, I was a pimp, living the life according to the law of the streets (Do or die). My message deals with the issues that we (Indigeous Black American Prisoners of war) were faced with then and now. I am a Chicago resident who was born in Alabama. My family migrated to Chicago in 1959, when I was 8 years old. At 8 years old, I found myself in the midst of one of today's notorious figures. Then, he was 10 years old and I was 8 years old. I was new to the neighborhood and got jacked for my lunch money. My first thought was I had to fight! I was never afraid of an honest and fair fight. Ever since then, the fight has been on.

It is with humilty and gratitude that I am blessed to emanate from such a great IFA Lineage of good, knowledgeable and powerful Babalawos. My Babalawo is OLUWO IFAKOLADE OBAFEMI.

In addition to his many accomplishments in the upliftment of humanity within our communities nationwide and beyond, he has written several books on Traditional African Religious practice which are currently for sale in the international marketplace. MISSION

Today I, Babalawo Afonja Obafemi am in another fight... the fight to stop the violent mentality of our world. I am a Priest Of Humanity. It has been nationally reported that our children are dying at alarming rates and something has to be done about it. I am reaching out to all those who are willing to listen. Today is the begining of the beginning, I am calling together all those Yoruba and anyone else who wants this violence (starting with our communities) to stop. We as Yoruba were told in the reading for the year to go amongst the people to bring those who will come, into the fold. I have a Shango head and I am compelled through IFA to fight the good fight.

He travels from the earth to the heavens and visits the Deities, Orishas and Ancestors every 5 days unless he’s following a case. It’s as long as he’s on the case. His consultants, the 7 ancient ancestors which are young children of all nationalities these children have fresh spirits and then it’s his three very own spiritual angels that follow him where ever he goes. All of these spiritual entities are prevalent in his casting to solve the case. You see we all go back to the belly of the earth which in turn provides the energy that opens the spiritual world.
